Remote Zanskar and Himalayas with Khandro Thrinlay Chodon

Join Khandro Rinpoche and yogis of the Shakya Shri lineage in this intimate journey to the high Himalayas. Here you will experience authentic Himalayan Buddhist culture in action. Khandro Rinpoche is returning to this remote valley after years of absence due to the Covid pandemic and is chief guest of the local community in the inauguration of the Phodrang (palace) dedicated to her late husband, His Holiness the 9th Shabdrung. There will be a special Shakya Shri empowerment of the divine feminine and local community cultural events of song, dance and food sharing. Zanskar is filled with holy sites – one of the eight holy charnel grounds, centuries old meditation caves (including one where Guru Rinpoche meditated) and unique local monasteries resting into remote rocky ledges. Sites you will not see anywhere else on earth! You will be special guests of Khandro Rinpoche and will also visit her Khachodling female hermitage which is nestled high above the valley floor in Sani. Experience this culture and community like never before and have the spiritual journey of a lifetime guided by a genuine local Himalayan Master.
In this journey you will also visit the famous Manali as this will be our base town while staying in the most beautiful Aloka Resort with its Magnificant views of the Himalayan ranges. Manali sits at the entrance to the high Indian Himalayas and has been home base of the Shakya Shri lineage yogis, established by Khandro Rinpoche’s father Apho Rinpoche. See the historic wood blocks of Milarepa life. You will also visit the home of HH late 9th Shabdrung and Khandro Rinpoche, Drukpa Zimkhang and meet the wonderful lay women practitioners at this active dharma hub in Manali. From Manali you will also be taken to visit the Shakya Shri hermitages in the Land of the Dakini (aka as Lahoul) and visit the very special holy shrine of Chenrezig (Buddha of Compassion).
