About : Lakshak, a curious and sharp learner, is a friend of Rajat. One Sunday, he decided to visit the Gompa for the weekly puja. Despite being a Hindu and studying in a mid-school, Lakshak quickly picked up the Tibetan puja scripts. Agula, impressed with Lakshak’s eagerness and dedication, informed Guru-ma about his passion and intellectual interests. Recognizing the spark in him, Guru-ma took Lakshak under her wing and facilitated his admission to the best school in Manali.

Today, Lakshak is thriving in his freshman year of college, pursuing a vocational course. Moreover, he has begun working for the Manali Zimkhang office, combining his spiritual inclinations with his professional pursuits.

Special achievements: Lakshak is known for quickly learning Tibetan puja scripts. He is also passionate about improving his technical skills to Khachodling’s needs, particularly website development and photography. Lakshak together with his sister Mrinalini and his friend Rajat are the core of the Khachodling office in Manali. They work with Khandro Rinpoche, Agula who manages the Zimkhang and with the local Womens group of Khachodling. Lakshak is being trained in website development skills in conjunction with Rinpoche’s students in the West.

Lakshak’s Reflections on his life’s path and Khachodling: Being part of Khachodling has changed my life. I still remember the day I visited the Gompa with my friend Rajat. Even though I came from a Hindu background, I felt an immediate connection and was drawn to the spiritual energy. Khachodling gave me the opportunity to grow spiritually and academically, and I am deeply grateful to Guru-ma for recognizing something in me and guiding me forward. My favourite memory is of learning Tibetan puja scripts and being welcomed into the Khachodling community so warmly—it made me feel truly seen. I stay connected by continuing my work at the Zimkhang, practicing the teachings in daily life, and sharing what I’ve learned with others.

Message to Current Students and the Khachodling Community

Stay open to learning—everything can be a spiritual experience if your heart is in the right place. Value your teachers and cherish the community you’re a part of. Even small efforts matter—be consistent, be kind, and be curious.
