Commenced with Khachodling : In 2024 Jigme Zangmo gained admission to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine course at Hajee Mohammed Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, Bangladesh. As she had no means of support Khachodling is her sponsor since that time.
Interests : Singing, Dancing, Reading and Playing Sports
About Jigme Zangmo: Jigmed Zangmo is from the family of 9th Shabdrung. Her brother is Sey Jigme also mentored by Khachodling. They come from a poor village in a remote part of Eastern Bhutan. In 2024 Jigme Zangmo entered the national singing competition in Bhutan “The Voice of Nightingale” and amazingly came 8th. She has a beautiful voice and speaks eloquently with care and precision.
Q. What’s your aim in life : Since childhood, I grew up with a handful animals that my mother reared (like cows, dogs, cats, horses). Since then I have felt a deep bond with animals, and seeing them suffer without help has inspired me to choose my aim in life—to become a good veterinarian.
Q. What’s your favourite subject at school : One of my favourite subjects at university is Animal Science and Nutrition. I like this subject because it directly teaches us about the animals – types, behaviour, feeding habits, how to handle the animal and so on.
