Guru Padma Gyalpo Day

Guru Rinpoche day is considered one of the auspicious days in the lunar calendar and falls on the 10th day of each lunar month. Padma Gyalpo (or Pema Gyalpo) means “Lotus King” and is one of Guru Rinpoche’s eight manifestations. In this form, Guru Padmasambhava is depicted as a young prince with his left leg folded in his lap and his right leg extended on a lotus, ready to act; with his right hand he plays the damaru and with his left hand, he displays a mirror. Pema Gyalpo is the form in which Guru Rinpoche took birth; He represents the childlike state of no duality, a state where there is no “this” or “that”, a state of freshness. Because there is no dualistic reference point, there is also no any kind of concept.
