Guru Rinpoche day is considered one of the auspicious days in the lunar calendar and falls on the 10th day of each lunar month.
This month marks the anniversary of Padmasambhava, one of the eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava)
In this nirmanakaya manifestation, Padmasambhava arrived on this day into Central Tibet from India. Having been invited by KIng Trisong Detson to defeat negative forces to the dharma. Here he subdued hostile demons and local deities and miraculously built Samya Monastery where he guided the King and his own 25 disciples to liberation.
