Guru Rinpoche day is considered one of the auspicious days in the lunar calendar and falls on the 10th day of each lunar month.
This month marks the anniversary of Tsokye Dorje, one of the eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava)
In this nirmanakaya manifestation, Padmasambhava was born miraculously on a lotus in the middle of Lake Danakosha on this day. On the island of this lake he turned the wheel of dharma for all its Dakinis. He was known as Tsokye Dorje or the ‘lotus born vajra’.
