Guru Rinpoche day is considered one of the auspicious days in the lunar calendar and falls on the 10th day of each lunar month.
This month marks the anniversary of Senge Dradok, one of the eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava)
The Tirthikas from South India tried to destroy the dharma, Padmasambhava vanquished them and turned their gods and guardians into dust. He waived triumphantly the Victory banner of the dharma and so became known as Senge Dradok ‘he who roars like a lion.
