Khandro Rinpoche, Sey Jigme and the Khachodling Team invite you to practice with them, as sangha perform Candlelight Puja from Hervey Bay, Life Release in Hong Kong and generally mark this very special auspicious day in the Buddhist calendar.

Lhabab Duchen

Lhabab Duchen commemorates the Buddha’s descent from the heavenly realm, where he had gone to impart teachings to his mother, Maya Devi (or Mayadevi), who had been reborn there. She had passed away seven days after his birth. To repay her kindness and liberate her from samsara, and also to benefit the gods, Buddha spent three months teaching in the realm of the gods.

The entire month of Lhabab Düchen is considered auspicious. During this period, the karmic effects of positive or negative actions are multiplied one hundred million times!

Candlelight Puja
The candlelight puja is a practice from the Buddhist tradition, which involves preparing a beautiful flower and candle mandala and invites participants to invoke those in their lives who have died or who are having difficulties. The practice itself will bring the intentions of the participants for their loved ones into the pure space of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas where their sufferings, pain, guilt, regrets transform into wisdom and compassion.

Contribution to the Mandala
If you are in Hervey Bay and would like to contribute to the construction of the mandala please bring flowers and/ or tea lights to the sanctuary by 10am Tuesday. For in person attendance it is customary to bring cash notes in two seperate envelopes on the evening (one for deceased and one for obstacle removal). Online attendees can make offerings online via the link below.

Following this ceremony Khandro Rinpoche has arranged the full 49 day Shitro choega (puja) to be performed in the Himalayas by monks and yogis of Khachodling. Our principal benefactor for this special time (Jinpö Chenpo) is Stuart Lord. All in person cash offerings as well as those online will be sent to the Himalayas so that your loved ones are included in these practices.

Life Release
Following Khandro Rinpoche’s instructions, since 2013 her Hong Kong sangha practice life release every month on Dakini Day. This month it will be on the auspicious day of Lhabab Düchen. This is a profound skilful means of the Buddhist tradition for prolonging life, improving health, removing obstacles and negative karma for individuals, families and ancestors.
