Guru Rinpoche day

Guru Rinpoche day is considered one of the auspicious days in the lunar calendar and falls on the 10th day of each lunar month.
This month marks the anniversary of Pema Gyalpo, one of the eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava)
In this nirmanakaya manifestation, Padmasambhava was invited to Oddiyana by King Indrabodhi. He was installed as the crown Prince and married Princess Bhasadhara. By ruling the kingdom in accord with the dharma, he became known as Guru Pema Gyalpo, ‘the guru who is the lotus King.’
