Jigmet’s parents mention that when he first joined Khachodling he could barely speak and had no socialising skills. Today, he talks with confidence and compassion. They are so thankful to Khandro Rinpoche and the support from Khachodling.
Jigmet and his family live on government land in a small shack. His parents have no steady income. Jigmet’s mother works for $5/day but that work is not guaranteed. His father works a seasonal trekking job. They moved to the small town of Manali from from remote area of Padar in the Himalayas, which is very different. Without Khachodling’s support Jigmet’s parents could not afford school fees and he would not receive an education. I like playing cricket and spending time with my parents and family. I enjoy coming to Bhutan Gompa and spending time with Khandro Rinpoche and the nuns.
Since being supported for the last five years with Khachodling, this family is doing better financially and also feeling more confident in different life style from their remote village. They are very grateful to Khachodling for providing them with both spiritual, moral and financial support and helping them to adjust to a new town and lifestyle.

I love chanting Shabdrung prayers and going into a deep trance! I enjoy learning my own Buddhist language and writing scripture. It is very healing for my heart.
At school I learn English, maths, Hindi, social science and Science. My favourite subject is Computer and Science.”
After school I help my mother and sister to cook and garden. I also do some prayers with my sister before I go to bed at 9:00pm.”
When I am older I wish to be a Computer Engineer and help my poor family to live like western people.
My question for an Australian person: How can I come to Australia? Can I walk or do I need wings?
