Tampei Duchen

Falling within Saga Dawa month, Tampei Duchen is the specific day which commemorates the birth of Buddha Shakyamuni.

India and South East Asian Buddhists tend to celebrate the Buddha’s birthday on a different day (usually full moon in May). This day is known as Vesak or Buddha Purnima or Buddha Jayanti.
