Khandro-la and nun

Pilgrimage to Zanskar (Ladakh)
July 15 - August 4, 2006

An Intimate Spiritual Journey with Khandro Thrinlay Chodon

"My heart was opened by this awe inspiring and uniquely intimate visit to those lofty regions of high spiritual vibration with Khandro-La. I will never be the same." - Anita Eubank

This is a rare opportunity to practice Tibetan Buddhism along ancient pilgrimage routes in the Himalayas. Zanskar is reknowned for its spectacular landscape and pilgrimage site of the great twelfth century siddha Naropa. Compassionate and exuberant, Khandro-la is devoted to bringing the wisdom of her ancient tradition to today's world and she is particularly interested in awakening the feminine.

Men and women with enthusiasm to explore Ladakh and Zanskar as family guests are welcome on this trip. On this journey, we will be visiting family monasteries, sponsoring ritual ceremonies, offering butter lamps, sending energy of peace to all beings by hoisting colorful prayer flags on the high passes and meditating in the absolute expanse of blue sky and nature.

This is an opportunity to meet the twenty one dedicated female practitioners who are under the guidance of Khandro-la. These nuns and the Khachodling Trust was established on her previous trip in 2005.

Khachodling Trust is dedicated to provide education to destitute women and children and to promote medical care in remote areas. We will also enjoy the hospitality of Khandro-la's local relatives along the way.

Khandro Thrinlay Chodon comes from a family of great yogis and meditators of the Drukpa Kargyu lineage. Her family has long historical connections throughout the region we will travel.

Her father Apho Rinpoche, a widely respected master, was responsible for strongly reviving the Drukpa Kargyu tradition in these areas, where he established many retreat centers and restored many monasteries, enabling a great number of practitioners to develop their spiritual practices.

Please take this opportunity to explore and practise with Khandro-la, her brother Jampal, her student Lena McGregor, a monk and a nun from her lineage in the Himalayas. Jampal is trained and experienced in the high mountains and known among his western clients for his prompt help and compassion.
