Pilgrimage to Nepal

Khandro-la will lead a pilgrimage to Nepal for a ceremony
to celbrate the 800th year of the Drukpa lineage.
Interested people are invited to join Khandro-la.

Itinerary
Day 1
27th December 2008
Arrival in Kathmandu.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu transfer to the hotel, room check
in assistance provided.
Days 2 - 6
28th December 2008 - 1st January 2009
Visit Boudhanath Stupa which Shakya Shri and his sons renovated
in the early 1900’s. There is also a small stupa around the
main stupa, which is dedicated to Shakya Shri. We will circumambualte,
offer food to the birds and meditate in the midst of the early
morning devotional prayers of hundreds of pilgrims. Have tea
or lunch at Stupa View.
Visit Sechen Gompa home of Khandro-la’s main master, the late
HH Dilgo Khyentse. Visit the incarnation if in he is onsite.
Visit Chokyi Nyima’s Monastary, Trulshik Rinpoche and others
depending on whom is onsite
We will attend a ceremony of the Drukpa lineage,
which is to be held during the Drukpa Council, a unique gathering
of all Drukpa Kargyud Masters. Khandro-la is invited to attend.

Visit Swayambhunath Stupa for mediation and pilgrimage. This
stupa was also renovated by Shakya Shri and sons.
New Years Eve will spent in a special way that invokes a fresh
start to the forthcoming year. There will be a cultural programme
as part of the Drukpa Council.
Days 7- 9
2nd – 4th January 2009 - Maratika Cave.
Fly Kathmandu to Lamidanda (35 mins). Lamidanda to Maratika
Cave, (3 hours by Jeep)
Maratika is the place where Guru Rinpoche meditated on and
became inseperable with Amitayus (Buddha of Longevity) thus
he attained immortality. It is a very auspicious pilgrimage.
We will stay two days, practice in the cave with the transmission
of Guru Rinpoche, offer tsog and raise prayer flags
Leave Maratika around mid morning of the 4th and return to
KTM
Day 10
5th January 2009
Drive to Pharping, to visit Chatral Rinpoche. Also Namkha
Drimed’s Gompa
We shall also see the self-emanating Tara
Day 11
6th January 2009
Day trip to Namobuuddha
Namobuddha is the last of the three stupas renovated by Shaya
Shri and sons in the ealy 1900’s. This will complete our visit
to the three main stupas around Katmandhu.
Day 12 - 13
7th – 8th January 2009
Katmandhu
Day 14
9th January 2009
Depart homeward bound
