School: D.A.V Public School Manali // Class: 1st

Manali is a very small town and its difficult for my parents to find work.

We moved to Manali from a remote Himalayan area called Padar. Manali is a very small town and its difficult for my parents to find work. We have no steady income or financial stability, therefore we need assistance to support my education.

Over the last five years this family is gradually feeling more confident in adjusting to a new style of life from their remote village situation. They are very grateful to Khachodling for providing them with both spiritual, moral and financial support. When their children grow up they hope to return to their village and support their community. Yangdol’s parents say that she is deeply influencing her whole family with good teachings from the Sunday dharma class.

My parents like to help at Bhutan Gompa. I like playing Kho-Kho and gardening. I also love spending time with my parents and family and coming to the Sunday dharma class and being in the presence of our Gurus blessings.

My parents are very grateful that I can come to Sunday dharma class and learn about our culture, values and dharma roots. They thank all the Khachodling supporters and are very grateful. Yangdol particularly loves helping Agu-la in the gompa garden. Learning chanting and feeling the good vibration of sound is a real treat after heavy school homework.

At my local primary school I learn English, Maths, Hindi, Social Science and Science. My favourite subject is Drawing and Painting.

After school, I come home and change my school uniform and wear comfortable clothes. After rest I do my school home work. I help my neighbours and also do some prayers with my family before I go to bed at 8pm.

When I am older I wish to be either Engineer or Doctor, I’m not sure yet. I will see what will bring a good income to my family. I wish to provide a permanent home for my family.

My question for an Australian person: In television you all in the west look really happy - R U really happy?

Support Yangdol's education and opportunities for the future.
